- Description:
- The site being at Dhangadhi, one of the hottest cities of Nepal, we have carefully designed and placed the toilet block and the restaurant block to counter its harsh climate. The design components for the blocks have been conceptualized to provide a thermally comfortable building with the use of semi-covered verandah, brick jali wall for light and ventilation, and high ventilations for hot air effect mitigations. The northern side of the site has been allocated for parking and outdoor eating space.
Number of sustainable components has been proposed in the project; biogas system as the sewage solution whose gas will be used as cooking gas for the restaurant. The wastewater will be treated via the Reed bed system which shall be again reused in the toilet and garden areas. Similarly a rainwater harvesting tank has been proposed to collect water from the slope roof for reuse. Cost efficient CSEB has been used as wall material. The electricity shall be provided via solar panels. The use of permeable and eco-friendly Asian grass paver in the ground surface will enhance the groundwater recharge. The use of fragrant flowers on the front side of the toilet will counter the foul smell of the toilet. The designed toilet block follows standard design specifications, which will cater all age groups and most importantly for differently abled people.
